About

Hello and welcome to my blog, Amanda Teaches!

I'm glad you're here and I hope you stay a while! My name's Amanda, and I'm 27 years old. I know I look much younger, but trust me I'm 27. I was born and raised in Orange County, California and I'm honestly still figuring out where life is going to ultimately take me.

I went to college at California State University, Fullerton and graduated in 2014 with my bachelors degree. I majored in English and I minored in Communications. After that, I decided to become a teacher! I went back to school for a year to get my teaching credential and finished the CSUF Single Subject Teaching Credential Program in 2015. From there, I officially became a teacher!

I currently work in Orange County, teaching English and Drama to a great bunch of high school teenagers. In addition to building great minds in my students, I love to learn myself. I recently finished my Masters program in Education Technology and completed my degree in December 2018! I've also decided I want to teach Art in the future, so I'm currently studying to take and pass the Studio Art CSET tests!! I have big plans for my future, and I'm really excited to share my experiences with you.

Aside from teaching, I love clothes. All of them. Okay maybe not all of them, but I really do love dressing up and expressing myself through my outfits. Although I'm slightly limited with my outfits during the school year because of our school's dress code, I try my best to make it work and keep it fun!

Anyways, I created this blog as a creative outlet while in my student teaching/credentialing program. I've changed my domain name about three times now, and even started-ver a few times, changing my niche, but I love having my own little space on the internet to express my creativity with all things life, style, and teaching.

I have this crazy dream of taking this blogging thing further, and turning it into a side job-and possibly even a full time job in the future. I know it sounds pretty crazy and impossible, but I think I can do it. In the Summer of 2018, I dabbled a bit into the world of Youtube, and although it's been a long journey, I think I'm making great progress.

The world of Youtube is my ultimate dream, and being able to help others and connect with more teachers is such an amazing feeling. After all, that's what life's all about right, following your dreams?

Be sure to follow me on all of my social media accounts to stay updated on what I'm up to both inside and outside of the classroom!
